If my partner and I are spending a day running errands and hanging out, then the mood often strikes while we are out and about and we will have a midday tryst. One of my favorite ways to get us both in the mood is to talk about how hot it would be to have sex is the stacks of the bookstore or on that couch in the antique store or how that chocolate sauce in the grocery store would taste better on a body than ice cream. Just making small easy comments into each others ears and letting hands linger on bodies in otherwise innocent/sexless spaces can be a huge turn on. (Heck…my motor is running just writing this.) On New Year’s Eve when my son was 13 months old, I resolved never to turn down sex. If it was hinted at, suggested, or boldly offered by my partner, I would go for it.
It didn’t matter if I was in the mood or not. Because let’s face it, waiting until we were both in the mood, the baby was asleep and the sheets were clean was like waiting for my lucky numbers to win the lottery. Read the full post »
When the proposal was first put to me that we launch a site all about Moms and sex, I was skeptical. A lot of Moms I know don’t have much sex.
Immediately post-birth that makes sense. If the Mom had a vaginal delivery she may be feeling pretty battered and beat up. If she had a C-section, she’s recovering from surgery, if it was an adoption or surrogate, the shock of the transition is huge enough on its own. The sleep cycles of infants are not conducive to parental eroticism, nor is the scent of poopy diapers. Read the full post »
