Blogher Inspiration with Instagram Photos
I had the amazing opportunity to attend Blogher11, a conference of women bloggers from all over the world, held August 4-6 in San Diego. I’m excited to share with you some of the highlights, including throwing a little shindig with the help of Sandy, social networking and sex information goddess extraordinaire, from toywithme.com. Sandy inspired this entire adventure, which started off with a party at the Lounge SD (see our tempting invite).
When our guests arrived, Sandy told them all about the raffle and the toys we had to give away, while I greeted them with fruit, pretzels and Babeland’s Edible Body Chocolate. We had a great group of about 50 women from all realms of blogging, all excited to discover Babeland. You could say we kicked off the conference with a buzz!
We played a penis candy necklace eating game, gave away a some awesome swag and prizes and talked a lot about sex blogging and what Babeland has to offer. The tweeting – instagraming – social networking goddesses at the party even gave us our own hash tag #makedildosnotwar based on the Tantus buttons that we passed out:
In the end everyone took home something fun to play with.
I was a newbie when it came to the whole concept of this conference and lucky for me I caught up with affiliate and fellow sex and seven deadly sins blogger Queerie Bradshaw aka L. M. Fleming.
I met up with Queerie to check out the conference hall aka the land of the free (stuff). We got free bags, Dove Ice Cream, Arm & Hammer toothpaste and Dr. Scholls shoes and even free money from Retailmenot.com
I was overwhelmed and amazed and inspired by the workshops and all of the great communication taking place. All of the sponsors reaching out to this vibrant community of women from all walks of life who are real influences in the retail world.
I stopped by the Yahoo booth and the ladies there had the fastest Babeland recognition of anyone I met at the entire conference. Yay!
You can see in this picture one of the women sitting on the floor in their booth reading the Babeland handout I gave her. They also told me about a great opportunity with yahoo for all different types of bloggers who want to reach a wider audience with their writing called the Yahoo Contributor Network. If you are a blogger who wants to amplify your voice on the web I suggest you check them out!
And so it went. I wandered around, learned about the brands, chatted with new people and handed out information about Babeland. Everyone was warm and friendly. I loved talking with the super sweet Mormon women I sat with at breakfast on Saturday, they were not shy talking to me about what I do and how it relates to what they do. There were very sex positive and supportive of quality sex education!
Meanwhile, I introduced Sandy to a new friend whom she brought along on all of her Blogher adventures. Minna Ola came out and over 50 women asked Sandy to give them a hands on demo of this innovative new toy, whether in the conference hall or on the dance floor, for a chance to win one of their very own.
I also brought my friend the Fun Factory Paulina along too and gave our followers and tweeters at home a chance to come along for the ride and bring home their own Blogher swag without even going out!
All in all Blogher was an amazing adventure. I met some great new friends, connected with some of the people I work with over the web, live and in person. And took home, and gave away, so many goodies (even for my little one).
Next year Blogher is taking on NYC! Will you be there?
