Get Your Groove On

Our friends at Cafe Stir posted 20 tips from a book entitled A Tired Woman’s Guide to Passionate Sex, which included everything from sharing chores, to talking dirty, to using lube. All great advice, but I’ve long been wanting an excuse to post  my own very particular recipe for success. In days of yore this would no doubt be referred to as “mother’s little helper”: it’s a Bombay Sapphire Gin Martini, served up, with a twist, and made just for me by John the bartender.

Please, if you are at all tempted to wag a morally superior finger at me for requiring a little recreational assistance to get my game on, just resist. I am old enough to know when to imbibe, and exactly how much primes the pump. Plus, it’s a grown up gal’s drink, it’s sexy and I look good drinking one. What’s more, I live in a small town, so when folks see me out without kids, drinking a martini, they know I’m having a good time. I like that. In my own way, I think it sets a good example for the parents who never manage to take a night off from their kids.

So here’s my tip #21: imbibe the cocktail of your choice, and if you’re on a roll, combine it with tip #22: dinner prepared and served by the person who hopes to get laid later in the evening!
